Proud Places is based on the Heritage of London Trust’s restoration projects across the city. The programme invites young people to take an active part in each project, encouraging a sense of ownership of where they live.
Proud Places gives each pupil fresh eyes on familiar places. By encouraging creative responses young people become expert ‘storytellers’ at school and at home.
As well as site visits and classroom workshops, we provide information packs so teachers can embed local places across their curriculum planning - from history & literacy to science and art.
Young people across London struggle with a lack of employment confidence and opportunities. For older pupils, Proud Places includes mentoring and skills workshops at global law firm Jones Day.
